Ashley & Rick - Kayenta, UT, November 28, 2009

Rick and Ashley are the couple I met at the beginning of my TEP9 class. Sometimes when you meet someone you just can feel a connection there. I knew I needed to photograph this for them and for me. And I was so excited when they decided to have us there. It was in beautiful Kayenta, at the labyrinth. And it was FREEZING!! But that didn't take away from how beautiful it was and the energy that was in the air. Clouds, wind, amazing location, a photographer's perfect set up. It's really late tonight, and I'm off to bed. Think I may re-write this in the morning. Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

TEP 9

WOW, it's been about a month. Guess I've been busy.
True Emotion Photography Class 9 was a success. Sold out 2 weeks in! Had a great time in Kayenta. Greg at Xetava was wonderful to work with us. He set us up with our own table for 13. Had some BA shrimp with brie couple glasses of Cab. Conversation was great. Class started at noon with me sychronistically meeting a couple who were planning their reception in the Caberet Garden. "oh I'm a photographer, this is my class." haha. I thought that was probably the best lesson of the day.
Fundamentals to model shoot to dinner to post processing. What a day. Can honestly say I worked harder and prepared more for that class than any of the previous 8, and I enjoyed it the most. Thank you guys for coming out.
Here's a few pics. Went a little 1980s on them for some reason.
Special thanks to Melissa Darling of Photography by Melissa Darling. She was refreshing and indispensable to have there with me.
Pushing family & Boudoir photos now for the holidays. Better get back to it.

Lisa & Patrick - Musee Rodin, Paris, France September 28th, 2009

Had a wonderful time in Paris at Lisa & Patrick's wedding at the Musee Rodin. It really is one of the most beautiful locations in all of Paris that I have seen. Katie & I spent a week out there, a much needed break for us.
Lisa & Patrick were wonderful to work with. A simple elegant wedding. We had a lot of fun with the two of them. And they were open to any ideas we had along with really giving us as much time as we needed to set each shot. Evan, their 8 month old daughter, was soo stinkin cute and made us miss our kids even more. She was all smiles for everything we needed her for. Those blue eyes really were that vibrant, I didn't add any extra color.
We began shooting at Hotel Bel Ami, getting ready shots, detail stuff. Then headed over to the Museum. Lisa in the Rolls, Patrick and us in the BMW Van. After the wedding we had about 30 min. at the museum, and then headed out to the 4 locations Katie and I found walking around Paris near the Louvre and areas near by. The last photo was my favorite. Katie found this little alley next to the St. Michelle fountain. The photo feels very dark dramatic. Little bit of motion with the dress and then the height of the buildings with the sky above.
Our day coming home was nuts. Metro, Train, Plane, Germany, Chicago, Vegas, Shuttle...26 hours! I was a bit jet lagged yesterday. I thought things would be a bit calmer when we returned, but it's still crazy here. Still moving, 3 weddings to get finished ASAP (not including this one), emails, etc etc. It's all good, just a lot. I definatly would be up for having an assistant, if anyone wants some experience in the chaos.
Better move on to more pressing things.

Samantha's Bridals at Entrada

Thought these turned out beautifully, with a couple being our favorite of this type so far. Samantha is a sweetheart and we're gearing up for her wedding in just over a week here in STG.

Paris is just a couple weeks away. I'm trying to get 2 more weddings done, and in the process move over to our new house. Lots of work, but we'll be so ready for a break when we head to Paris. Not too much of a break though. I'll be focused for that wedding for sure.

Gotta run.
